Walking Adventures

Romantic Stroll

This stroll starts at the Historic Haberfelde building.  The building was built in 1927 by George Haberfeld, who was married to Alvina Schmidt in 1894.  As the Haberfelde building was being constructed, the couple would stroll around town, chatting about the family businesses, their children, and their plans for the future.  It is rumored that invisible clues follow some of the paths they wandered.

    • Follow the clues to tour part of the downtown area, see historic buildings, discover new places, and chat with your romantic interest while helping those less fortunate by distributing items for the homeless to find in a quasi-reverse scavenger hunt: leave a blanket here, leave a tube of toothpaste there, help those in need while bonding with your romantic partner.
    • Between each of the stops on the adventure, the couple is given a discussion topic and a small romantic task to complete.
    • Tools provided: Compass, UV Flashlight to find clues, instructions.
    • Distance: 2.8 miles
    • Time: Approximately one hour
    • Cost: $25 per couple
